Alexanders are here.

And spring has sprung!

Introduced by the Romans, their fragrant and delicate creamy-white flowers open up as soon as they detect spring sunshine. The name Alexanders originates from Macedonia, the former kingdom of Alexander the Great and the botanical name Smyrnium is a Greek word meaning myrrh referring to its scent. Walk along a Sussex lane not far from the coast today and chances are, you'll breathe in that delicate but distinctive smell.
